Dr. Adam Deming has more than 30 years of experience in clinical psychology and is internationally recognized for his contributions to the specialized treatment of individuals who sexually abuse. He is widely published in leading journals in the field and has delivered numerous presentations and training on topics related to sex offense to organizations such as the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, and the American Correctional Association, as well as state Departments of Correction. Dr. Deming is distinguished as the chair and lead researcher of the International Project for Evidence-Based Practices with Sexual Abusers (IPEPSA), which is at the forefront of evaluating and determining the strength of evidence-based practices in this field. He is also a member and Fellow of ATSA, a member of the ATSA Adult Clinical Committee, and past president of the Indiana ATSA.
Currently, Dr. Deming directs operations and oversees the delivery and quality of a specialized, statewide sex offender management and monitoring program. Under his direction, the program provides an integrated continuum of sex offender-specific services for adults and adolescents, beginning with risk assessment and treatment in state correctional facilities, proceeding through the re-entry process, and continuing through to parole supervision and community aftercare treatment. He was previously responsible for administrative and clinical oversight of a secure treatment facility for 550 civilly committed sexually violent predators.
Dr. Deming holds a Doctorate of Psychology degree from Nova University, and a Master of Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Psychology degrees from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
