Barbara Stachowiak

Program Director

Barbara Stachowiak is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and nurse executive with 30 years of experience in the development of nursing/healthcare systems designed to meet regulatory standards. She specializes in healthcare systems and innovative training for special populations with I/DD. Her experience includes resolution of USDOJ citations and annual reviews of state and federal Medicaid and Medicare regulations governing residential care of special populations in several states.

 

Since 2010, Barbara has served as Executive Director of a statewide quality program involving surveys and certifications of 18 day and residential provider waiver services in the HCBS program. In this role, she directs and manages all program operations, including team leadership and management, quality assurance/control, research, and training services. Barbara earned a post-doctorate certificate from the University of Massachusetts Family NP program, a Master of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State College.
