Behavioral Health for Hospitals and Health Systems

Establishing high-quality, cost-effective behavioral health programs that enhance long term clinical and economic performance.

A trusted expert in the design and management of behavioral health delivery systems.

For almost 40 years, Liberty Healthcare has successfully provided staffing and management of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for hospitals and health systems across the United States.

We work collaboratively with each client to evaluate and customize a behavioral health solution that fits your goals, needs, and resources. We are unique in offering four different options that range from psychiatric staffing to clinical leadership to full operation of an inpatient unit or an integrated continuum of inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient mental health services.

Our goal is to understand, identify, and remedy internal and external barriers that are impeding your behavioral health program from establishing a robust referral base and providing exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes in the communities you serve.

Behavioral health models to meet your unique needs and objectives.

Model 1: Full Management and Staffing of Behavioral Health Unit

Liberty can take full or partial operational responsibility of a behavioral health unit or program within your hospital. Depending on your preferences, we can provide all or most of the clinical and administrative leadership, treatment programming, professional and paraprofessional personnel, clinical systems, and policies and procedures for daily operations. We begin with a collaborative needs assessment to determine the best options to boost admissions, maintain high census, and increase revenues. This could entail a plan to repurpose an existing unit, rejuvenate current operations, or establish a new specialized target program such as geropsychiatry.

Model 2: Acute Gero-Psychiatry Unit with Intensive Outpatient Continuum

Liberty offers a geropsychiatric continuum model that provides psychiatric stabilization and diagnostics for acute episodes, followed by intensive “stepdown” rehabilitative care and outpatient maintenance. This model works well as a critical regional resource for seniors in nursing homes and local communities, as well as those in hospitals and emergency departments.

Model 3: Clinical and Administrative Management

Liberty provides clinical leadership teams that work with the current hospital workforce. The clinical administrative leadership team can direct, train, and supervise the hospital's personnel, strengthen clinical best practices, and manage the day-to-day clinical programming and operations of the adult or adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit.

Model 4: Staffing Entire Departments or Recruiting Hard-to-Fill Positions

Liberty provides the clinical leadership and workforce outsourcing capability to enable hospitals to attract and retain psychiatrists, nurses, and other mental health clinicians or to bolster an understaffed department or program.
